Ying Liu went to Shangdong University of Traditinal Chinese Medicine when she was 18. She was rigorously trained in general medicine (including Chinese and modern biomedicine) for 8 years. She gained a Masters Degree in internal medicine for her research work in the treatment of autoimmune disorders using Chinese herbal medicine in 1997.
She is a registered doctor in the Chinese Health Service and had been working in the University Hospital in Shandong Province for ten years before she came to the UK. She worked in several departments in the hospital including A & E, Rheumatology, Urology, and Acupuncture Department and gained abundant clinical experience.
Ying came to the UK in 2004 as a practitioner of Chinese medicine and has been working in a complementary medicine clinic in Chester. With her extensive medical training, Ying’s approach in the clinic is to marry the best of both Chinese and modern Western medicine.
She will look at the patient’s problem from both Western and Chinese medicine point of view, using holistic approach to tackle the root of the problem with acupuncture, herbs as well as advice on lifestyle, diet etc. Just as binocular vision affords us greater depth and perspective, Ying believes using the twin lenses of Chinese and Western medical systems makes us more effective doctors and can contribute to improved clinical outcomes, especially nowadays more and more in our clinics in the West this is demanded by our well-informed patients.
With over 15 years of clinical experience of as a physician in China and practitioner of Chinese medicine in UK, she holds high level of expertise in many areas, including common seen pain problems, skin problems, chronic fatigue, hay fever and asthma, digestive problems etc, specialising in fertility and gynaecology, autoimmune disorders and urology.
